
The San Diego Division of Five Star Parking was formed in 1992 with L&R Group and Chacon Parking as general partners. On day one, all we had was a dream of becoming the absolute, finest parking company in the region. What began with one employee and one parking lot at Broadway and Kettner has now become the largest parking lot operator in downtown San Diego and the second largest operator overall. Recognized as the fastest growing parking company in the region, we are the only local operator who owns, develops and operates public parking structures in San Diego.
Today, our portfolio of office buildings includes many of the foremost office garages in San Diego from the iconic Emerald Plaza to the brand new Advanced Equities Plaza near the waterfront. Recently, the very respected Irvine Company entrusted Five Star Parking to manage the parking facilities at One America Plaza , 501 West Broadway and Westwood Gateway I & II. Currently we manage over 5,200 garage spaces and over 6,800 parking lot spaces for a total of 12,000 stalls in the region. In addition, we developed and eventually sold the 608 stall public parking facility, Columbia Garage, in addition to owning the 600 stall Parking Palace.
Our business model is simple and concise. Parking facility leasing and management operations, parking asset acquisition and development and hotel valet operations services. We believe that improvements in operating performance supported by precise operational procedures, applied technology, transparent accounting practices and clear, candid financial and operational reporting will generate previously untapped value opportunities for the owners of the parking facilities we operate and manage. We provide quick and efficient responses to our client's needs through our investments in technology and education which are integral components of our firm's culture.

We apply the same management skills, revenue controls and judgments to our client's properties that we do to our own. This gives our clients parking services that are developed and tested with our own money and assets
Our senior management group has a combined (115) years of San Diego experience and extensive local parking operation, management and site development expertise. We make decisions expeditiously and locally. Our team is distinguished by its accomplishments and characterized by its vision. We invest in San Diego both individually and as a company not just through our business operations by via our investments as well. Our investments and our businesses generate tens of thousands of dollars annually in local tax and fee revenues to the local economy and hundreds of thousands of dollars in the community through wages, salaries and vendor payments.
